Earlier this summer, SMR member Vivian Luong accepted an offer from the University of Virginia for a position as postdoctoral research associate and lecturer in the Department of Music. Congratulations, Vivian!
James McNally recently accepted a post as a full-time Lecturer in the Department of Music at the University of Illinois at Chicago, with a possible additional affiliation with the Department of Latin American and Latino Studies. This fall he will be teaching courses in Latin American Music and US Popular Music, with a variety of other potential classes in future semesters. He is incredibly excited to work with an amazing department and an outstanding student body, and is so grateful to the SMR community for the incredible support it has provided over the past four years!
Recently, SMR member Michael Schachter was elected as a Junior Fellow of the Harvard Society of Fellows, thus joining a venerable tradition of brilliant minds. His fellowship begins next year and extends for three years. Congratulations, Michael!
