Earlier this week, SMR members (and friends) gathered for the February edition of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Student-Faculty Reading Group. This time, Claude M. Steele's Whistling Vivaldi: How Stereotypes Affect Us and What We Can Do was the topic of discussion. Those in attendance discussed the role that stereotypes play in human lives, and particularly those of students, as well as what we can do to foster environments where all can thrive.
