On Sunday, April 21, SMR members gathered to celebrate the completion of another successful year. In addition to eating delicious food provided by El Harissa Market Cafe, members reminisced about the many activities that took place over the course of the year that were not documented on this blog, such as:
- Many conferences around the country and the world, featuring presentations and posters by SMR members
- A professional development workshop, organized by SMR Forum and hosted by Prof. Charles Garrett and Prof. Nancy Murphy, about the academic job application process
- Several “mind mapping” workshops, organized by SMR Forum, where participants created mind maps to brainstorm research and teaching projects
- Many shows in Ann Arbor, featuring the musical talents of SMR members
- Three SMR General Assemblies, where SMR members met to discuss all of the above activities and began making plans for next year!
Thanks especially to the SMR Social Chairs for organizing this event, and congratulations to all for another great year. Have a wonderful summer!
